-I always felt that ww2 and post ww2 generations have been keeping aviation history alive. But as time marches on these generations that kept the flame alive have been getting very old and passing on. These people worked at and supported aviation museums, they created the first websites to host data on aircraft, squadron, and personal history.
-warbirds don't attend airshows in mass like they used to. And No warbird parades at the end of the shows anymore.
-Some warbirds stopped flying.
-The number of b-17's flying really dwindled although that number should go up in the coming years.
-Aircraft crew reunions have ended for many aircraft types.
-Many websites are now gone, defunct, 404'ed.
-Some aviation museums have closed. Some get little attendance.
-AMARC has scrapped most of the older aircraft. Some of the older aircraft have been in storage for decades. So why did they all of a sudden decided to scrap them all in the last 10 years?
-Many of the scrap dealers around AMARC have retired and closed shop.
-Several of the private aircraft collections around AMARC have scrapped their aircraft and repurposed their yards.
-The USAF and USN have been retiring many aircraft the last few years that have been in service ever since I was born! (1986 baby)
-Several youtube aircraft historians stopped making youtube videos.
-Internet forums have lost attendance.
-retirement of the kc-10s, P-3 orions, u-2 spy plane, C-2 Grayhound.
-Many of the abandoned military airfields are now getting covered in new buildings.
