I have done some research over the years. There are two warbird types that I would consider reasonable to get saved and flying.
There are two warbird types that there are still many derelict aircraft around the country and many parts still plentiful. Yet nobody is really making an effort to make any of them fly or let alone save for museums or private collectors.
The aircraft in question are:
The Grumman S-2 Tracker. The Grumman UH-16 Albatross.
I myself was offered to buy a S-2 tracker for $2500.00 a few years ago. I would of definitely gone for it. But I live in Pa, and the S-2 was in Arizona. ugh.
